News

Ørjan Nilsen and Fingerling launch their exciting new collaborative project, Melo Mechanics, bringing funky tech house vibes to the forefront.

Ørjan Nilsen and Fingerling are not only longtime friends but also prominent figures in the Norwegian dance music scene. Both artists have established successful careers individually but often come together to create electrifying trance and mainstage tracks like “1 Like You,” “U Gotta,” and “Fable.” Their latest venture marks an official partnership with the introduction of Melo Mechanics.

Ørjan Nilsen explained their vision for the project, stating, “[Fingerling] and I have always been drawn to the techy and funky aspects of dance music, so we wanted to collaborate and explore more underground and groovy styles.” Their long-standing friendship has made the collaboration seamless, and they aspire to tour together to showcase their unique interpretation of house music.

The idea to delve into house music emerged during the COVID lockdown, with Fingerling expressing a sense of urgency, describing it as a “now or never feeling.” This creative synergy caught the attention of renowned artist Fedde Le Grand, who signed them to Darklight Records after hearing their demos as Melo Mechanics.

Listeners can now experience the fruits of their labor with the release of their debut single, “Gets Hard.” This energetic house track features a captivating vocal line, a dynamic shuffling groove, and a funky bassline layered with techy elements, making it an ideal addition to any dancefloor playlist.
